Kabbalah (or Qabbalah; Kabala) is consider a religion but also described as a discipline and a school of thoughts that concerns the mystical side of Judaism. Initially you had to be 40 years of age to be granted its teaching, but with the internet you can easily gather a global aspect of these esoteric leanings without having the minimum requirements.
A Kabbalistic aspect that is interesting is that it is seems mostly base on understanding. There seems to be different views or version of description, but can be perceived as a way to “work on yourself / enlightenment”, to reach a “higher level of intuitive cognition”. Kabbalistic knowledge being limited as it can be a full time study, the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life concepts remains simple in its complexity. A way to portrait its 10 circle design called Sephiroths, is that everything is connected, it all depends on the individual.
Many commons point can be found in other old teaching such as the I Ching. As for the Chakras, there are well known in the esoteric world and many relations to them have been made in many religions. It is to believe that some of the principles can still be understood without the intensive Judaism studies. One of the stages presented is Redemption; a stage that seems to include both personal and collective redemption. A point of view is that every golden road must have its bumps. Kabbalah can be confusing as many legends, myths and misrepresentation surrounds it. It is to believe to first achieve enlightenment there seems to be a series of event to be able to achieve a “higher level”, a type of “kick-start” or “wake-up call”. Including a collective redemption seems to be subjective to a global spread, something that marks the entire world and create awareness. Then again in theology it seems that it could also address only a personal characters trait.
There are some Rebbe that believes that the time of redemption is near, even are even to say that it is to be in 2012. It is mentioned that “the process of redemption” is to go on until the year 1573 (Jewish years) which would accordingly go with year 2012 (or approximated to the years 2011-2018). Maybe not as precise as other sources, but I’m sure that many are still getting that odd coincidence feeling.
Until next post…
